CADEM THROWS KALANKO
Drop in the level of pupils, lack of training for some teachers, the inadequacy of training in the labour market, difficulties in accessing schools, the rate of schooling to be reviewed and the drop-out rate, school closures and insecurity. These are among the problems facing the Malian education system.
And it is in this context that the Centre d’Analyses et d’Action pour le Développement du Mali (CADEM) launched, Monday, July 08, 2019, the first Malian newspaper entirely dedicated to Education. “Kalanko” which in Bambara means “Everything that concerns Education” is a free monthly newspaper about which aims to contribute to the revitalization of the Malian education system through reports, investigations, awareness raising and promoting good initiatives.
At this stage, the newspaper operates on the CADEM’s own funds. And the team relies on the support of Organisations and Good Will to provide people with good information free of charge and to bring about a change of behaviour among the actors of Education.
